Business world
The model of the business world today is a dynamic one and a peculiar one, too. The businessman creates changes and must adjust to change. He lives in an uncertain world that is partly his own making. Within this uncertainly are the following scenes, the increased power of organized labor and the steady upward pressure on wages, the expanding role of government ( as newspapers report, government has taken over the stewardship of many private firms; the precarious state of international, political , economic and trade relations the growing clout of advertising the strong effect of publis opinion changes in distribution pf political, economic and business power and many more.
In keeping with changes in the business and industrial work environment, the perspectives in the field of behavioral sciences come into fore. This course will be mostly changing individual and group behaviora, since man is the warp and woof in the fabric of business, his behavior can be best studied by viewing him from three points that he has needs (physiological) that he seeks belongingness (psychosocial) and that he has systematic ways of doing things (cultural)
Our broad objective is to develop the business students and prepare him to face the increasing challenges of our modern world of work. The offering of a course in Behavioral science paves the groudnwork for scientific thinking and exposes students to the latest concepts of human behavior so that, irrespective of the type of occupations they may hold in the future, they will be better prepared in meeting the challenges of the business world. Students must be taught how to fit in an organization. It is intended also to prove a perspective of the adult as a dynamic, changing individuals with different needs and different demands at different points in time and as a result of different work experiences. It also aims to make them understand organizationally relevant phenomena as motivation, work attitudes, human relations, leadership and social responsibility and others.
